Review of Paths of Glory (1957) by Liam B — 08 Apr 2013
After my third time viewing it- I've made up my mind. Paths of Glory is the greatest anti-war film of all time. The film itself is a long, dark (visually and thematically), sober perspective on the harsh indifference of militant forces.
This film is the reason why I rank Kirk Douglas as one of the greatest American actors of all time. The ending is so painful and harrowing to watch, I can't think of a movie that convinces realism of setting and character and engages the audience more than Paths of Glory.
