Review of Paths of Glory (1957) by Paladin Of Odin — 02 Dec 2008
A character driven story, this anti-war piece gets at the heart of what it takes to maintain order in battle and the supposed "village idiocy" of idealism. The choppy editing and script only shows the ambition of the project.
Kubrick had superb talent at a young age. The point of view cinematography of the court martial scene put the audience in the prisoner's position.
