Stanley Kubrick's shattering indictment of the military mindset rings true from its calm opening all the way to its gut-wrenching finale. Kubrick was never as succinct and relentless in any of his subsequent pictures.
Superb writing, directing, acting, and camerawork. An absolute masterpiece.
