Review of Pathfinder (2007) by Morgan H — 02 Jan 2009
Costumes and cinematography were very well done, but the historical inaccuracies really took me out of the movie, like the girl's dog being something like a sheepdog, stirrups on horses, the immense long ships, horses on long ships, vikings with mastiffs, Urban's very modern use of language, the snow sled ride, etc.
I did like some of the very short and brutal fight scenes. I didn't want over choreographed fight scenes that are out of period and this movie did mostly deliver on that. The snow sled fight and the extended fight on the mountain side was a bit much though.
