Review of Pather Panchali (1955) by Kristen T — 05 Aug 2010
This one is a quiet stunner. Deeply poetic and beautiful in its simplicity. Moving in a very true, very understated way. The direction, acting, cinematography, and music were all top-notch. Often times, I forgot I was watching a film and felt more like I was viewing a historical document of an actual Indian family.
I am really looking forward to checking out the rest of the trilogy.
