Review of Path to War (2003) by Pat N — 26 Oct 2007
A good lesson about leadership and how to properly use advisers. LBJ is at one end of the continuum, and W is at the other. Johnson seemed to have little idea of what to do, and Humphrey played zero role in the film btw, while Bush and Cheney stubbornly pursue their own agenda.
Neither team exploited the expertise of their advisers to good effect. A bit slow at times, and Gambon's Texas accent isn't very convincing, but the theme is important to experience. See it after Fog of War and see if you agree with McNamara's portrayal here.
