Review of Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid (1973) by Sylvain J — 24 Feb 2008
A weirder, more disjointed movie has yet to be made. Disregard for life is taken to a level not seen before or since, as both Pat and Billy kill without contemplation. Friends and cohorts die without reflection.
Also, it's abundantly clear that Bob Dylan was permitted to write his own lines. When his character is asked, "What's your name". He replies, "That's a good question"...
Otherwise, Cinematography and soundtrack is great. James Coburn's face is still James Coburn's face, and Kris Kristofferson knows how to wear a vest.
