Rock star western in terms of cast, attitude, hair, music and the beatific smile on Kris Kristofferson's face. The fact that all of the Mexican-Americans and all of the women are depicted so shallowly detracts.
3 versions of the film now exist. The directors cut is a real pre-preview cut w/ a couple of dire scenes that director Peckinpah used as bait to save better scenes from the studio's final edit.
