I'd been wait for a while to see this film, ever since I got into Peckinpah's films they said this was one of his best...it had all the Peckinpah trade marks and acting regulars...Coburn was great as Pat Garrett...Kris Kristofferson is really good as Billy and I thoght Bob Dylan was great as alias I also Really loved is music for the film very hauting and powerful...there something about the simple life portaird in the old west I love...he really shows how hard it must of been for Pat to kill Billy one of his best friends...I really love that line that one of Billy's gang says at the start after Pat tells Billy he's going to be a lawman now and tell's Billy either leave and live or stay and die, they guy says to Billy why don't you kill Pat now? Billy answers because He's a friend of mine...

There ae a couple of great moments in the film, I loved that Peckinpah himself appears as a undertaker, he has a real presence on screen, I would have liked to see pop up in more of his films...I was thinking when I was watching this, there isn't really any film maker who does westerns and manhood better than Peckinpah then or today...I'm still waiting a great new film maker to come out and make great films, aren't we all sick of all the remakes and sequels, what the hell is happening to film??
