Review of Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid (1973) by Morris N — 19 May 2008
Routine Peckinpah.
He's a better than average director, so there's plenty to enjoy.
Something about the timing is off. It drags, which is not normal for Peckinpah.
Coburn is excellent.
I wasn't impressed with Kristofferson.
Grim, violent story without a shred of humor and not much humanity.
I was surprised at how well Bob Dylan can act. I don't like his music, but he wrote a good soundtrack for this film.
