Review of Passport to Pimlico (1949) by Ian J — 01 Sep 2007
I can't fault this film. A true classic, the presence of Margaret Rutherford lifting it further in my eyes. Of course it's dated, but it's post-war setting captures London at that time incredibly vividly.
And the fighting underdog storyline that has you rooting for victory and which must have appealed to a nation still reeling from the effects of WW2, still effects the viewer even today. Simply marvellous.
