Review of Passion (2013) by Pierluigi P — 01 Jul 2013
Stylistically exquisite show of De Palma's known, lauded or hated, trickery behind cameras. His expresionistic approach, emphasized by a very pleasant nightmarish camerawork, is gallantly embraced by cinematographer Jose Luis Alcaine.
Shame that self plagiarism comes along too evident and campy. The lesbian/psychosexual plot, though well played by the leading ladies-femme fatales, isn't a novelty nor it is arousing, but rather a pretty enveloped package of his worst tics.
