Can you imagine the movie being about two hot looking guy/girl wakes up by 'random' and falling in love and save the ship from disaster? think that would be a much more boring plot.
This is not a movie that portrays a perfect guy meets perfect girl and they perfectly save the world. If that's the type of movie you like, this is not the movie for you.
Both Pratt and Lawrence gave a great performance of their roles. the plot explores human nature, loneliness, desperation, internal struggles, betrayal, shock, horror.
Not saying what Pratt's character did was right, it was definitely wrong, but if you put yourself in his shoes, are you gonna go kill yourself instead?
I think what makes this movie one of the best sci-fi ive seen, is how real and logical it is. from the character's response to the plot. plot is not ridiculous or total fantasy. special effects is spectacular, space ship they were in was really cool.
