Review of Paris, Texas (1984) by Jonathan H — 03 Sep 2010
Paris,Texas on bluray. Wim Wenders' pensive road flick. Amazing cinematography of a battered, dusty neon-lit American West. Robby Muller's camera-work is so influential. Harry Dean Stanton gives a sublimely aching and child-like performance.
It's hard to imagine the film without the acoustic guitar of Ry Cooder. Despite it's slow pace, this film offers patient viewers a treat , dealing with understated emotions and the cruelness of things left unsaid.
5 out of 5 sturm und drang.
