Review of Paris, Texas (1984) by Michael D — 01 Nov 2017
A gorgeous love poem to the American west, Wenders is at his best when showing us the the detritus of the highway, less so the detritus of the human soul. The first 2 thirds are staggeringly good - the emotional denoument of the final third, simplistic, overlong and unrounded.
Still, it's one of the best American films of the 80's.
