Wim Wenders' Paris, Texas is a winding modern Western, skilfully shot and impressively acted. Even when silent, Harry Dean Stanton's Travis is a worthy protagonist, guiding us through the movie with a fantastic performance via a character comprised of great depth and enigma.
Wenders paces the film expertly despite its length, capturing the beauty of the American South minus the stereotypes, and crafting memorable rounded characters and great dramatic weight particularly in the final act.
All in all this is a solid film made quite captivating by its compelling narrative.
