Review of Paris Je T'aime (2006) by Conner R — 13 Nov 2009
With a cast and directors straight from the who's who of independent and foreign film, I liked most of the vignettes in this collection. Some were almost too avant-garde ("Tour Eiffel" about Mimes. No, really.) One or two were almost too conventional or expected, "Bastille" about a man about to leave his wife until he learns she has a terminal disease and "Le Marais" about a star crossed lover who tells a shop hand he's just met that he might just be his soul mate. One or two try too hard to be out of the ordinary. But overall an interesting, unconventional look at love stories. I didn't catch the connections to Paris' arrondissements, but maybe my eye is just too unsophisticated.
Gosh I'd love to get back to Paris!
