Review of Paris Je T'aime (2006) by N F — 25 Feb 2010
This film contains 18 5-minute shorts, all about love. I love the concept. Each short is done by a different director. Some of the shorts were moving, some were great, some were just strange, and others were dull.
Quite the mix! I liked that it also had some parental love stories, not just romantic love. I already can't remember all the stories though! What stands out: Natalie Portman was great, I always adore her; never thought I'd see Elijah Wood as a vampire, and was quite surprised by the one supernatural short (funny that that wasn't the one by Wes Craven); the Coen brothers one with Steve Buscemi was quite strange yet somehow amusing; I liked the one with the boy that followed the cute girl to the mosque, he had such an innocence about him; the one where the cheating husband stayed with his wife when she was fatally diagnosed was very touching; the one with the mimes falling in love was just strange; the one with the man that gets stabbed.
.. heartbreaking. (2-25-10).
