Review of Paris Je T'aime (2006) by Cecilie B — 13 May 2010
Every once in a while I come scross a jewel of a film, one that I beforehand knew very little about but which turns out to be a true pleasure to watch. This is one of them. A love declaration to the city of Paris, 18 different directors (the Coen brothers, Alexander Payne, Wes Craven, Alfonso Cuarón, Gerard Departieu, Christopher Doyle, Walter Salles, Tom Tykwer, etc, etc.
) contribute with each their short story set in 18 different parts of Paris. And the list of actors contain Juliette Binoche, Steve Buscemi, Willem Dafoe, Natalie Portman, Elijah Wood, Marianne Faithfull, Nick Nolte, Miranda Richardson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Bob Hoskins, and many more.
Some segments make you laugh, others make you cry. I absolutely LOVED this film and deeply encourage everyone to watch it.
