Review of Parents (2007) by Mark B — 17 Oct 2008
Well, this was a lot creepier than I expected it to be. Directed by Bob Balaban, Randy Quaid and Mary Beth Hurt star as the parents of a young boy who starts getting suspicious and frightened about what they've really been up to lately.
The young boy does a nice job with his shy and scared looks throughout the film. I've been wanting to see this for a while because I wrote a script that sort of deals with the same theme. I expected this to be a fun, dark comedy, but instead this is sort of more horror than comedy.
I especially loved the dream sequences, and I also loved the close ups of the meat. Good movie, I'm glad I finally saw it.
