Review of Parenthood (1989) by Gustav M — 30 Mar 2008
Interesting film, which isn't very funny. It is still affecting, as it manages to show pretty much every aspect of parenting, from the spoiling, to the over-bearing, to the desperate, to the lack of caring.
The wonderful cast is perfect, and does indeed seem very real. I find it very hard that Steve Martin didn't get an Oscar nod for his work here, as he was very good. Dianne Wiest was very deserving of hers.
