Review of Parenthood (1989) by Nathaniel C — 28 Nov 2009
I have watched this movie as I was a kid not totally getting it, but still enjoyed. Now as I get older I understand it more and it makes this film much better. This film is just great in storytelling. You know your a good director if you can juggle between a bunch of story's and still keep it enjoyable.
The acting is another thing thats good. This was Steve Martin in his prime actually making things funny. Now its really changed for him. This movie also brings on the funny and the emotion of suburban life.
It does have one problem it doesn't hold up much today some problems with family life don't effect families as much as they did in 1989. Good thing this doesn't ruin the movie much. So in the end it has good acting and is really emotional, but doesn't hold up much in today's world.
