Review of Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014) by Steve W — 11 Jan 2014

The movie was mediocre at best compared to the rest of the series. I enjoyed the different cultural setting and the relationship between the two friends, and the connection between the past movies int he franchise towards the end.

However, the director mostly used the same old tricks as before, making the movie less thrilling overall. We, as the audience, learned nothing significant about what is going on or who Toby is. In fact, adding this new character in the mix and the connection between movies in the end was utterly confusing.

The story has spun out of control and turned something that was truly frightening into a mockery. Although there were some good parts, they were overridden by the bad. A waste of time.
