Review of Paranormal Activity 2 (2010) by James W — 21 Mar 2014

This sequel yet again cranks up the terror in a more jumpy addition, and although it's not as scary as the first, it's a lot jumpier, I reckon the creators thought "right, we have our audience now, let's scare them by making them jump even more".

The sinister atmosphere we all experienced in the first one is still looming, it's very effective and the house genuinely feels haunted and filled with an evil presence all the time! These found footage horror movies either work or fail but Paranormal Activity just gets better and better, the acting is always solid considering it's such a low budget production and the build up is always incredibly dark, near the end you fear the finale as it's a descent in darkness as the evil entity finally takes over it's victim and the film ends with a shocking conclusion.
