Review of Paranormal Activity 2 (2010) by Landon M — 27 Jun 2015
A film that relies on its audience to already be on board with the franchise and having watched the original. It mimics what we have seen before and attempts to make sense of it all however never fully does and instead delivers a slow burn tension piece were loud bangs are the main scare.
Towards the end a more drastic turn takes place but it begins to sway into laughable and predicatable rather than frightening. The style is a good idea but at only two in the franchise already feels stale and over done.
Sometimes horror producers need to know how to quit when ahead.
