I'm by no means into all the skateboarding thing, but since I found it to be almost secondary to the storyline, I didn't really mind. Besides -Gus Van Sant + a couple of songs by Elliott Smith + the city of Portland, OR = LOVE.
And, of course, the fire scene made me cry.
