Review of Paradise Now (2005) by Matty S — 12 Jul 2008
I didn't really see this movie as trying to promote sympathy for the Palestinians or anyone else for that matter. Even if that was the aim of the filmmakers, this film ultimately transcended that goal and treads in much more universal, "human" territory.
I see it more as a film exploring the human condition, that uses the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as a vehicle to illuminate a much deeper reality which it just does so very compellingly.
