Hunnam and Malik seemed to elevate each other's performance. In one scene where they were loading rocks on a tram, I could see why Hunnam was cast in the original Steve McQueen role. The resemblance was uncanny.
I was prepared to dislike the movie, but love the actora. I ended up riveted to the end. They stayed true to the original, as far as I remwmber it.
