Review of Papillon (1973) by Nate C — 17 Jan 2008
Steve McQueen movies almost always hold a high entertainment value. This film sought to show the evils of the correctional system. Rehabilitation was not the goal, rather retribution on the part of society.
The system could not take away what's inside a man provided he does not relinquish it. Well done, but similar themes were present in Shawshank.
