Review of Papillon (1973) by Darrell H — 25 Jan 2010
Hauntingly original in scope and tone, this surreal film has McQueen giving probably the best performance of his career and the age, shored up by Hoffman. A meditation on the indefatigable human spirit.
One of the all-time classics and very faithful to the novel of the same name. Excellent film.
