I have never read the book, though while watching this movie, I feel like they had some trouble translating it to film; it felt like some parts were missing, and maybe some parts were added which took away from the story.
the movie follows a kid as he pines for his neighbor, but what he is really pining for didn't exist, and what he found was so much better. overall the movie was good, lots of fun, kinda like a rom-com adventure, (spoiler alert) where at the end what you really find is yourself, and not the girl you thought you knew.
good acting, decent story, just felt a little lost in translation.
