Review of Paper Towns (2015) by Valentine V — 29 Sep 2018
The trailer, the casting, the plot, the book adaption... this movie should've been a big hit like "The Fault In Our Stars." But the only fault(s) this movie has was the trailer, the casting, the plot and the book adaption. The opening scenes of our main characters as kids, have absolutely no context and adds nothing else to the story. Other than Margo is THE human Tumblr. The cinematography is lackluster, the script was so decent and the character development was interesting.
Each character was WRITTEN very well; however, I can't say the same for the acting. The delivery was just so platonic, especially Margo. Maybe that's why she was in there for about 10 minutes. The people saying her name gave more emotions, than she did in all of her scenes. Seeint Natt Wolf reminded me of my childhood. And I personally don't wanna think of my childhood and the cringe factor of him being in love with Margo. The supporting cast was very beautifully done. I personally would like a movie with them.
To add on, the plot was just so boring. The movie was as boring as the first 2 hours of "The Fault In Our Stars." The only difference is that the movie was shorter and there wasn't such an uproar about the word "okay.".
The ending was a very interesting. I personally liked it. The ending might've been the only other part, aside form the Pokémon theme song.
To conclude, the movie was an "okay?" "Okay.".
