Review of Paper Towns (2015) by Christopher H — 21 Oct 2015
I quite enjoyed this film. I'm not sure why it got such harsh criticism. At least after sitting through crap like Pixels, Unfriended, Terminator Genisys, Mortdecai, and The DUFF, this felt like a breath of fresh air.
Perhaps it could have used a little more work on the plot structure, but it's heartfelt, well acted, beautifully directed, has an interesting story and likable characters, has good chemistry between Q and Margo as well as between Q and his two best friends Radar and Ben, and is quite entertaining and quite funny at times.
It's actually more of a mystery/adventure/friendship kind of film rather than straight up romance. The romance is there, but it's kept to a minimum. This film deserved at least an 80% in my eyes.
