Review of Paper Towns (2015) by Michael S — 09 May 2016
After all the press that Cara has gotten and hearing some of the hype around the release of this movie, I finally saw it on pay-cable last night. I wish I hadn't. The movie was so bad I was glad I didn't read the book.
Sure, the girls were fun to watch; but they didn't offset the awfu writing/plot development. Just to make sure I understand: a super hot high school girl lives unmolested in a frightening crack den in town before somehow making it thousands of miles north to end up in a no-name town to "think and write"? And this is the big adventure of her life? And the answer to her disgust at living in Orlando (a paper town) is to move to a real one? Wow.
Just...wow.
