Review of Paper Towns (2015) by Sepehrm93 — 28 Apr 2021
It's not a terrible movie, but if you've read the book before, it's gonna be extremely disappointing. See, the characters are pictured quite accurately in the book, especially Margo's, but it seems like the creators were trying to make a lame, high school movie that could be favored by most of the teenagers. So they changed everything they could, even the ending (to some extent)! And it gets even worse when the focus is not on Margo being lost and the relationship between Margo and Q, but on Q's friends instead. Overall, the story is too much altered in comparison with the book; it's changed from a mystery romance with a tiny but beautiful touch of life philosophy into this like-every-other-teenage-movie thing.
The only thing I really enjoyed was the soundtrack which I downloaded and listened to while I was reading the book, before watching the movie.
