Review of Paper Moon (2013) by Dennis B — 19 Feb 2008
Charming movie, I think more interesting because the main characters were actually father and daughter and had a great chemistry to begin with (as was the same with a movie like The Pursuit of Happyness).
The story was fairly predictable but I really liked two things about it : the sense of humor throughout (as well as the lack of forced tear-jerker scenes that seem to inhabit movies like this) and the really excellent portrayal by the director and crew of 1930's Depression-era life.
Enjoyable enough to watch with older kids but I think most of it would be lost on the younger ones.
