Review of Paparazzi (2004) by Ryan M — 19 Jan 2005
Watched a few movies, rented a few, downloaded a few and bought a boxset all in two days.
I'll start with what I rented and downloaded:
I rented Magnolia, Pi, and Paparazzi.
.
I downloaded Requiem for a Dream, Battle Royale, Rushmore, and Napoleon Dynomite..
Now before any of the DVD downloading activites eat me alive, I should state that the only reason I downloaded the first three is you abosolutly can not rent them anywhere you go here, and Napoleon Dynomite was a case of watching most of it in school and not finishing it. I don't want to rent it just to see the end though.
Anyways, here are my ratings for what I saw so far:
.
Requiem for a Dream.
I often heard this was just a 'style over substance' movie, but I actually found it to be more of a 'great style AND substance' movie. It has really good camara work in addition to a great script, charecters and acting.
8/10.
Battle Royale.
I didn't find it to be an almighty god of films which we should bow down to or anything ::looks around to make sure number8 hasn't come to kill him::, but I still thought it was cool. There are a few parts I didn't really understand, and there are some other issues but it wasn't horrible.
5/10.
Paparazzi.
I was not the one who rented so this is not my fault. It's so bad it's almost funny.
2/10 (and that is being nice).
I also picked up The Godfather Collection today.
