Review of Papa Hemingway in Cuba (2015) by John H — 30 Apr 2016
Imagine after all this time, we still get travelogues glorifying the criminal communist overthrow of a stable government by rich, radical communist students paid for by the Soviet Union. The poor would not join the fighters because they had their farms and families and were not upset by the capitalist robbers.
The sad music and long, languorous pans of students being shot by Batista soldiers was supposed to evoke deep sadness and sympathy in the audience. All I can say is too bad they did not shoot a lot more.
