Review of Papa (2018) by Amnon C — 10 Aug 2018
Dear Danny and Zahava,.
Last week I had the distinct pleasure of viewing the movie "Papa" which you so skillfully created and directed and I feel compelled to share with you my pleasure, experience and the positive effect that this movie had on me.
As a frequent movie goer it is quite rare that I would exit a theater with the "wow" feeling or the profound effect that "Papa" had on me. First, the story itself, which is quite common in our society, was very skillfully told with the effective flashbacks, natural progression, superb and convincing acting and the emotional scenes. This movie had a moving effect on me that, as a father of two adults sons myself, I shed tears especially when Papa, while hugging the young man, said to him: "I am your papa." Ben, the young son, beautifully depicted an atypical rich Beverly Hills boy which, despite his adaptive family wealth, was a decent, sensitive and unspoiled young man. His biological father convincingly depicted a logical and realistic character despite his mental challenge and speech impediment.
In addition, the scenery and views were very pleasing to the eye and the background music was beautiful. "Papa" is certainly a Hollywood-class motion picture and is definitely award-worthy. I am sure that I am not alone experiencing this positive impression from this movie which will remain in my memory for a long time.
Congratulations for an extremely well done project.
Candidly,.
Amnon C.
