Review of Pan's Labyrinth (2006) by Barrie Q — 21 Apr 2013
Set in the years just after the Spanish Civil War, this is the story of the fantasy land that a young girl escapes in to get away from the brutality of her life with her sadistic step-father. Ivana Baquero is the young teenage star of this movie and it's surprising to see someone so young carry a movie.
I loved the duality of the ending and the imagery used throughout by del Toro. This is truly a masterpiece and I don't wait too long to see it.
