Review of Pan's Labyrinth (2006) by Jesse Z — 14 Jul 2013
Despite some skepticism of Guillermo del Toro's hit or miss writing and film making, Pan's Labyrinth hits all the right notes for me. It's essentially a really dark spanish fairy tale with interesting monsters and fantastic imagery you'd expect from a del Toro movie.
The writing is better than most of his other films as well and the plot is shifts around and keeps you interested throughout.
