Review of Pan's Labyrinth (2006) by Charles R — 02 Oct 2013
An always rewatchable classic that is NOT for kids - seriously, a dude gets his cheek sliced then sews it up HIMSELF while drinking whiskey. I repeat, not for kids. 5/5 Unsurprisingly, Guillermo Del Toro makes the aforementioned scene look freakishly realistic and graphic - the man puts DETAIL into this gristly piece of fantasy/horror, and gives no mercy to the viewer - you can either look away or witness a truly spine-tingling event unfold.
A genius work of cinema, and one I am always keen to rewatch during the Halloween season.
