Review of Pan's Labyrinth (2006) by Julian K — 05 Nov 2014

This is truly one of the best films I have ever seen. Each shot masterfully filmed. A storyline that keeps you engrossed. And for a movie where I was just reading subtitles off the bottom of the screen for two hours, I had completely forgot.

I could spend hours talking about how amazing everything in the film is, but i'll just cover the basics. Amazing use of CGI and practical effect combined, amazing acting, especially from the lead actress, who might be the best child actor i've ever seen.

Also, truly one of the greatest antagonists in any film iv'e ever seen. It takes tremendous acting skill to pull off what he did. I wont spoil anything. But to sum it up, something happens at around the 10-15 minute mark where you really start to realise what he is capable of.

Basically In short, speak spanish? Great, you'll find this movie awesome. Don't speak it? Great, you'll find this movie awesome. Can't read? The acting is so good and the body language so clear that you'll still find this movie awesome.
