Review of Pan's Labyrinth (2006) by Epic L — 09 Jul 2013
Easily one of the greatest fantasy films to ever grace the silver screen, Pan's Labyrinth is absolutely gorgeous! Guillermo del Toro's visionary style and story-heavy complexity compliment themselves outstandingly.
The imagery throughout the film is beautifully horrific and frightening. The performances is just perfectly executed by every actor in the film but the most outstanding is Ivana Baquero as Ofelia, a rare child performance that shines brightly above the rest.
del Toro does an excellent job taking two differing genres and mixing them together. The result is a beautifully told, smart fable that I will always treasure.
