Review of Pan's Labyrinth (2006) by Meme L — 25 Jul 2014
Pan's Labyrinth isn't the kind of movie you'd watch at a party because there's nothing else to do.
I watched this movie back in about 2010, after a pickup at a charity shop. What I thought was just "another" movie forced itself up to my favorite movie of all time.
It's cold, bitter, and cruel. It is actually far deeper than many believe from their first viewing. It's not the tale of how the "princess of the underworld" undergoes tasks in a mortal body to return home, but it's about how a young child wanted to be just that; a young child, yet couldn't be due to the war. I shan't spoil it for you, but it's certainly an intriguing story to follow.
This is the best movie I have ever seen.
