A magical and whimsical experience, but not in a sweet, childlike way. This film is dark, mixing nightmarish fantasy with a reality that is just as frightening.
There are a few utterly perfect intances where the villain gets his comeuppance that literally make you want to cheer. They are so flawlessly punctuated and acted.
