Review of Pandorum (2009) by James M — 08 Dec 2013
Had I known Paul W. S. Anderson had any involvement in this, I wouldn't have bothered with it. He's easily one of the worst directors working today.
He didn't actually direct this, but served as producer- still, it's apparent that he had some influence in the direction, the movie looks like it's trying to be a video game.
The bare bones of the story are actually very good. Two astronauts wake up from hyper sleep in a seemingly derelict spacecraft only to discover they are not alone and the crew are being hunted by zombie-like, cannibalistic creatures.
In the hands of a better director this could have been a decent Event Horizon style science fiction horror, unfortunately the direction and editing are absolutely terrible.
The last 30 minutes could have done with a re-write too. This film is just complete and utter nonsense.
