Review of Pandorum (2009) by Zohrn — 09 Oct 2017
Relies mostly (and with good reason) on the creepy and claustrophobic atmosphere of the scenery, a quite dark huge spaceship that is infested by cannibals, which are basically the mutated human cargo.
Acting is quite solid. This movie came as a surprise, as it wasn't announced properly, like with those big campaigns of today (there was some bancruptcy involved). The 28% critic's rating isn't deserved, since production values are quite good.
Another case of a big difference between critic's and audience's opinion. If it wouldn't have this amount of hysterical undertone, it would be quite watchable, though Dennis Quade does deliver his character's insanity quite well.
It's always good for a rewatch on DVD, when there is a need for a not overly rethought script, but a gripping sci-fi environment. And if a movie is able to suck one in, it doesn't fail, which should be honored (which it wasn't).
I call it a nasty little SciFi-horror-flick.
