I can't stand when everyone gets on the "derivative" bandwagon. Everyone knows you film critics don't read, so don't you know what you are talking about. Every film is derivative of multiple books, so your whole argument is moot.

Yeah, its the Descent on a spaceship with little room for character development cause everyone is out of their mind and unbelievably stressed out. That is what makes it fun. Lots of terrifying moments and a surprise ending I did not see coming.

Only a hint of Frank Herbert's epic seapunk Pandora series is there but its enough to make me nostalgic for that world.
