Review of Pandora's Box (2008) by Andy A — 03 May 2009

Don't get me wrong, I can see the genius in this movie but simultaneously I was dared to question whether or not I really cared. A bit excessive in length, the dreamlike qualities are unfortunately overshadowed by the fact that this movie was stretched beyond its limit and where an equally effective morality play could have been conveyed minus thirty or forty minutes, Pabst's flawed masterstroke opts to go against the notion of economical story-telling and draws it out to a painfully beautiful climax.
